This tutorial is going to show you how to make a silhouette, in other words, a drawing consisting of the outline of something, filled in with a solid color. There are multiple techniques to make a silhouette but I am going to show you the ways how I make a silhouette, like the example image below.

This tutorial will be broken into different sections in which each section will contain a different technique on how to make a silhouette.
- Brightness/Contrast - Using the action of Brightness and Contrasting.
- Hue/Saturation - Using the action of Hue and Saturation.
- Selection - Using Selection and in my opinion, the most easiest and fastest one to use. Plus, when using Selection, you can color the silhouette to your liking.
Brightness/Contrast
001. Click on the layer you want to make into a silhouette. Just click on it.
002. Once your desired layer is selected, go to Image => Adjustments => Brightness/Contrast and a window looking like the image below should appear.

003. What your going to do now, is drag both of the pointers to the left, or you could just change both numbers to -100. Either way works. Now your image should be a black silhouette!
Hue/Saturation
001. Click on the layer you want to make into a silhouette. Just click on it.
002. Once your desired layer is selected, go to Image => Adjustments => Hue/Saturation and a window looking like the image below should appear.

003. What your going to do now, is drag the Lightness pointer to the left, or you could just change the number to -100. Either way works. Now your image should be a black silhouette!
Selection
001. Hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard a click on the layer that you wish to turn into a silhouette. Your selection should have gone around your image.

002. Once your desired layer is selected, create a new layer. You can either press the keys [ Ctrl + Alt + Shift + N ] or go to Layer => New => Layer. What ever suits.
003. Go to the paint bucket tool and select it. Now go to the color selectors and select the color you want the silhouette to turn.
004. Once you have your paint bucket color and your layer is still selected, click on the new empty layer that you have created in step 2. Dump the paint in the selected area, and now you have a colorful silhouette! I chose a red color for my silhouette~ Fufufufu~
